The Mrtinovik bay is located on the southeast side of Hvar and one of the bays that offer the best shelter in strong north winds. The water is crystal clear and on the shore there is a beautiful pebble beach. The 5 buoys belong to the Konoba Mrtinovik. As they are usually occupied, a reservation is recommendable. The fisherman Ante Rosandic, who is called Gambo, operates a rustic tavern in the northeast part of the bay. Mainly fresh caught fish and octopus ends up on the plate but also other Dalmatian specialties. There is no menu. But daily-changing dishes of the day. A 3-4 course meal with scampi, fish , dessert and wine is about 36 euros per person . The wine and most of the ingredients are grown on Hvar.
