poiDetails.description

The fjord-like bay in Zavratnica National Park is surrounded by steep cliffs and is a part of Velebit National Park. It is actually illegal to anchor here or stay overnight but it is sometimes tolerated. Mooring rings have been fitted on the south bank. There are cliffs around the bank and it is quite shallow but the depth of the water increases rapidly up to 20 m. The bay boasts a popular diving spot. An old wreck from the second world war lies in about 2 to 6 m of water and is a popular destination for divers and snorkellers alike. At the crest of the bay, a footpath runs to the top of the mountain where visitors can enjoy a glorious view of the bay and the offshore islands nearby.
