In the night between 7 and 8 January 1968 the Greek freight ship “Peltastis” sank not far away from Silo. From the twelve crewmembers, only four survived. The wreck still stands in one piece in an upright position at the depth of aprox. 33 meters. This tragic ship disaster became later a popular diving spot in the Kvarner Region.
