Ligia is a small fishing village and lies not far from the southern entrance to the Levkas Canal. It is mainly occupied by local boats. Boats moor alongside or stern-to at the end of the mole at a water depth of up to 5 m. Should a visiting boat occupy the place of a fishing boat, the locals will point this mistake out very quickly. The low water depth at the quay behind the mole means only small yachts can moor here. Alternatively, yachts can anchor in front of the harbour at a water depth of up to 7 m where the seabed is muddy with dense growth. The local winds are right in the harbour in the afternoons. There are a variety of taverns and a limited range of food products in the village.
