Stari Grad

Stari Grad is surrounded by forest in a bay on Hvar Island. The port city is a popular meeting place for artists and skippers. The old town of Stari Grad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Yachts lay at depths between 1.5 and 3 m with mooring ropes with electricity and water connection to the south quay of the city port. in the middle of the port are some buoys. At the direction of the harbor master, 3 boats may be put on to one buoy. SE-Jugo occasionally blows strong gusts from the east to the port. The Maestral blowing strong from the west ensures tides in the harbor area. At Maestral the mooring in harbor can be dangerous. Setting the lines and delaying docking is then essential. In the old town and the harbor area many restaurants, cafes and shops are available.
