ACI Marina Palmižana lies on the north-eastern side of the small uninhabited island of St. Klement in the bay of the same name. The island belongs to the Pakleni islands and is directly opposite the island and the town of Hvar in Central Dalmatia.
People unfamiliar with the area should only approach the bay during the day as there is a rock just in front of the entrance, which is mark...
ed but not illuminated and should be sailed around with a safety distance of at least 20 m.
ACI Marina Palmižana is open from April to October and has approx. 200 protected berths, all of which have water and electricity. A heavy swell can occur when a strong Bora blows. The power supply is, however, not always reliable and when mooring you need to make sure that the mooring lines do not end up in the propeller. Furthermore, the depth of the water towards the northern bank declines strongly in some places.
Expect a long wait at the sanitary facilities, which are slightly away from the jetties, and there is not always enough hot water.
The closest fuelling station is located in Hvar harbour.
Shopping in Palmižana The marina has a supermarket, but its product range is somewhat limited. There are no other shopping amenities as the island is uninhabited. However, there is a regular water taxi link in summer between Palmižana Bay and Hvar harbour where there are several supermarkets, bakeries and butcher's shops as well as a market.
Food and leisure in Palmižana ACI Marina Palmižana has a restaurant with a bar. There are also other restaurants in the bay within walking distance, serving excellent dishes, including an artists' restaurant with a gallery.
Water taxis ferry over visitors to Hvar where there are numerous restaurants, konobas and café-bars clustered around the main square.
Palmižana Bay as well as the entire island of St. Klement have a beautiful landscape but nothing else, however Hvar has some interesting tourist attractions in its picturesque alleys.
It’s a party marina, it’s the central point of the Adriatic fleet party cruises. There are many very noisy young crews there. It's a nightmare! Piers are to close to each other, the aisles betweem them are extremely narrow, docking is very difficult.
Very expensive and for €75 when you just need a safe steady quiet mooring for the night you get three “party catamarans” moored on the next jetty! I really think a partial refund is in order.... such a shame as we were so looking forward to this place.
