The Mrtinovik bay is located on the southeast side of Hvar and one of the bays that offer the best shelter in strong north winds. The water is crystal clear and on the shore there is a beautiful pebble beach. The 5 buoys belong to the Konoba Mrtinovik. As they are usually occupied, a reservation is recommendable. The fisherman Ante Rosandic, who is called Gambo, operates a rustic tavern in the northeast part of the bay. Mainly fresh caught fish and octopus ends up on the plate but also other Dalmatian specialties. There is no menu. But daily-changing dishes of the day. The wine and most of the ingredients are grown on Hvar.
Well protected little bay with 6 buoys owned by the restaurant. Self mooring.
Booked on MySea with a deposit. Free if eating at the restaurant. Didn’t get deposit taken off bill so assume it’ll be refunded via MySea?
The most peaceful night we’ve had all week swell wise.
Food is a fish restaurant although did chicken for some of the kids that didn’t want fish.
Fish was the best so far. Value wise €60 per person inclusive of drinks. Note; there is not any coke/sprite/fanta or beers. Nothing but home made wine (white or red). Nothing the best but drinkable. The fish made up for it.
A truly organic experience which is fun/different.
