Kos Marina

>The entering is simple and easy even possible at night due to the proper lighting. Prior to entering one must register by radio and then be picked up at the harbor entrance by marina personnel in a dinghy that accompanies the boat to the mooring - which helps while entering a very narrow harbor.
Due to the breakwater on the east of the marina you will be properly protected, but during a strong Meltemi a tide still occurs in the southeastern part of the harbor.

In the Kos Marina are altogether 250 berths available, all of which have a power and water connection, and on land are more than 150 dry berths. However, since the port is also a base for many charter companies, free places are rare during the weekends when the marina is busy.
In the both sanitary facilities are showers and toilets that are clean and well-kept just as the entire area. Next to the harbor office is a small, air-conditioned library with free Wi-Fi.

Shopping
On the grounds of Kos Marina is a small shopping center with a mini market and several shops specializing in nautical equipment. More shopping facilities can be found in the center of Kos town which can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. Those who come with a rental car or taxi to the port can buy the groceries in the big supermarkets in the city. Not only are the prices a little better, but the selection is wider.

Food and Leisure
Within the Marina area there is a restaurant and a café-bar, which also offers breakfast and evening cocktails. In front of the Marina area are more or less good restaurants and bars at various cost lined up.
In Kos there are countless attractions such as the Neratzia (old hospital-fortress from the 14th Century) and many ancient archaeological sites. The finds are exhibited at a Museeum and the Asklepion of Hippocrates (Hippocrates’ Tree), under which he is said to have read and taught.
