Ligury

The Ligurian coast is about 350 kilometers long and it goes from France to Tuscany and presents a mix of natural, historical, and cultural landscapes.

The succession of beautiful sand beaches and cliffs overlooking the crystal clear sea is what makes special to sail along this coast.

Picturesque fishing villages, medieval towns, and marinas that offer numerous activities including boat tourism, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and biking, and wine tasting and local delicacies are only one part of what this land can offer.

Two major gulfs: the Gulf of Tigullio and the Gulf of Poets

Gulf of Tigullio:
nn ideal destination for boat tourism in the Ligurian region, it stretches between the promontory of Portofino and the promontory of Sestri Levante and includes the beautiful harbor of Santa Margherita Ligure, the bay of Paraggi, and the promontory of Portofino. In addition, the Tigullio Gulf offers numerous beaches, including Sestri Levante, Chiavari, and Lavagna.

Sailing southward, before arriving at the Gulf of Poets, there are the famous Cinque Terre: five picturesque coastal villages, a national park and marine protected area.

The Gulf of Poets:
it goes from the promontory of Portovenere to Lerici and is the last part of the coast before Tuscany. The gulf owes its name to the presence of numerous poets and writers who found inspiration in this wonderful bay, including Lord Byron, Percy Shelley and D.H. Lawrence.
The undisputed gem of this gulf is Porto Venere, often mistaken for one of the Cinque Terre, is easy to be recognized, even from far away, for its little church on the cliff, visible both from the Gulf and from the open sea.
Other enchanting places in the Gulf are: Lerici, Tellaro and Fiascherino, as well as the headlands of Punta Bianca and Punta Corvo.

The Ligurian coast is also famous for its gastronomic specialties, including pesto alla Genovese, Taggiasche olives, fresh cheeses, seafood, and the famous white wine Vermentino.
