ala Luna Mooring – Gulf of Orosei, Sardinia Cala Luna Mooring is located off one of the most spectacular bays on Sardinia’s east coast: turquoise water, bright limestone cliffs, sea caves and the wide beach of Cala Luna define the scenery. The mooring field is aimed primarily at larger yachts and offers an organised alternative to free anchoring in a scenically sensitive part of the Gulf of Orosei. The moorings are located in the Cala Luna area and in the more sheltered waters near Cala Gonone, and are best suited to calm weather and winds from western directions. With easterly winds, the bay is exposed and offers little protection. During the season, heavy excursion and day-boat traffic should be expected. Skipper’s note: Best suited as an exceptional scenic stop in settled weather. Early reservation and prior contact with the operator are recommended; this stretch of coast should not be considered a safe shelter in onshore winds.
