  • Idra - Historic and cosmopolitan island two hours away from Athens by the hydrofoils. On the island there are no cars and the movements performed only by mules and horses. The harbor is very small and receives a large number of sailing and motor yachts daily. Sometimes by the two opposite pontoons boats are tied up in two or three rows, and the result is the anchor to be involved at the bottom. If no space in the harbor use the anchorage Mandraki half sea mile north from the main port. Use a sea taxi for a delivery to the town or by walking is about 20 minutes. Walk the small narrow streets and in the hinterland you will find restaurants and bars for all tastes. Expensive island but if you search, you will find good and cheap prices for food. Use the tavern XERI ELIA (Ntouskos). Good food in logical prices located in a beautiful square under trees.

Romantischer, lebhafter Hafen, aber ...

What I liked:

Um das eigentlich tolle Hydra zu erleben ohne für schlechte Leistung teures Geld zu zahlen, besser in der benachbarten Bucht mit Landfeste ankern und rübergehen. Oder in der Mittagszeit als Gastlieger kurz Station machen.

What I didn't like:

Obwohl überteuert, wird man kaum einen Platz finden.

Hydra port and mooring systeem.

What I liked:

Nice town and eating and drinking facilities.

What I didn't like:

A very busy port, a lot of commercial ships, taxi boat and crusing board. We stay 2 nights but never go again because the mooring systeem. Going in a second till fourt rows is very dangerous with some havy winds, not thinking when sommering dangerous happens. Not good when You sail your OWN Ship. Some people don't know how to drop the anchor, double and triple anchor problems are daily.
