Skiathos is the main town in the island of the same name. The town of Skiathos has grown in the last few years and has adapted to tourism. Many bars, restaurants and discos provide a diverse night life. It is rarely quiet in summer. Yachts moor stern-to at the town quay at a water depth of up to 7 m. The southern mole and the southern part of the town quay are reserved for ferries and cargo ships. A swell is generated by the commercial ship traffic. In the north, the harbour is bordered by the marina. The harbour is protected from winds. Wind from the NE can be dangerous.
