- Approach by night is not recommended for the first time - The channel between Nisis Sivota and Nisis Ay Nikolaos is obstructed by the reef - There are only 2m depths in the passage between mainland and Nisos Ay Nikolaos - When approaching from the S, keep to the E side of the passage as there is a reef off the coast of Nisis Sivota
