The fishing village of Vathy on the north coast of the island of Meganisi is located in a deep bay. The berths are protected from practically all winds. North-westerly winds produce swells and can press the yachts against the quay walls when the chain has not been tightly drawn and the stern lines slacked. Walking through shady olive trees, you will get to the interior of the island. The amenities for sailors have been improved greatly in the last few years. Vathy gained a marina as well as the town harbour and various quays/jetties. Water and power are provided both at Odyseas Marina and at the town harbour. There are various tavernas and small supermarkets in Vathy.

water and electricity is now available on the town quay but you need a top up card. these are available from local shops. Swell if the wind is from the North. popular with charter companies who pack boats on to the small quay, and use the rose garden for briefings. Expensive in the new marina for overnight berthing.
