Gouvia Marina is located in Gouvia on the island of Corfu and is good starting point for sailing trips to the Ionian Islands. The large yacht harbour is approx. 6 km away from Corfu city and 8 km from Corfu International Airport. Gouvia Marina is the first privately owned yacht harbour in Greece and the home port for many yacht charter companies.
The protected facility was modernised a few ...
years ago and currently provides approx. 1200 berths, some of which are suitable for larger yachts up to 80 m long and with 5.5 m draught. Gouvia Marina is open all year round.
Harbour facilities at Gouvia Marina Fresh water and electricity are available at each berth. At the north entrance of Gouvia Marina you will find repair services and the fuel station. Near the south entrance, a seaplane base, postal services, several public telephone boxes, car/motorbike/boat hire offices, Wi-fi, port police, an ATM and office space for guests complete the range of services available.
There are several modern sanitary facilities. The laundry is located next to the WC and shower facility in the central area of the marina. Shopping You will find everything you need for your sailing trip at the large supermarket in the marina. The supermarket will even deliver your shopping straight to your pier free of charge. There is a supermarket and other food shops in Gouvia, which might be cheaper than shopping at the yacht harbour.
Furthermore, the marina has a ship chandler as well as a shop supplying diving equipment and a jewellery store.
Food and Leisure There are restaurants, bars and a hotel directly in the marina. On the quayside you will find a kindergarten, swimming pool and sports facilities.
The village of Gouvia is very popular with tourists and has restaurants, taverns, bars and souvenir shops catering for all tastes. Corfu city, which is only a few kilometres away, can be reached quickly by taxi and is well worth a visit.
Corfu, the greenest of the Greek islands, has many impressive monuments, churches and fortresses you can visit as well as many cultural festivities in summer.
The island of Corfu is perfect for sailing - the calm waters around the north-east coast with its many small bays, the diverse west coast with a rocky coast in the north and a softer landscape with many beaches in the south. South of Corfu city the shallow waters are ideal for swimming.
The international guests and tourists rate the well kept beach in Gouvia and the facilities at the marina highly. People can dine in one of the restaurants on the waterside, enjoying the view of the yachts.
Die Sanitäranlagen sind neu und schön - für Griechenland fast schon sensationell
What I didn't like:
Achtung - zu kurze Muringleinen. Die im englisch genannten "lazy lines" sind so gar nicht lazy - viel zu kurz und verirren sich besonders gerne in Propeller ;)
