Yachts can moor at the northern or western part of the quay when there is space. The southern part gets shallow quickly and the rock-fill makes mooring difficult so you should avoid it. When the Meltemi blows there is a swell in the harbour which can become so strong that you will have to leave the harbour.
The ingoing and outward ferries generate a heavy swell.
The hillside village of Mandraki is very attractive. The white houses stand in strong contrast to the volcanic rock. There are various taverns and bars near the harbour.
It is also worth making a trip to the “Volkano”. You can rent scooters or cars near the harbour.
