Description

The port is located in the bay Polače on the island Mljet. At water depths between 2 and 25 m, a speed limit of 4 knots is mandatory throughout the bay. Berths, almost all with water and electricity, are in general privately owned by the restaurants on site. At the head of the L-Mole in the south of the bay yachts can dock with mooring line. The buoys in the bay were removed in 2013. The bay is fairly well protected by the islands from the winds; violent rotating gusts fall at a stormy Bora and strong NW wind. The SE-Yugo blows gusty direction east and also causes the northernmost part of the bay strong tides. When the wind force is at 7, the bay should be left for safety. Many restaurants with beautiful views over the bay and shopping spots are right in town.
