On the island of Smokvica the Piccolo in Lojena Bay is a family business and a true classic. Ante Turcinov sails out every morning in his boat to catch only the best fresh fish for his guests. The langusti (lobsters) especially can be recommended. Ante's wife takes special requests and cooks for the guests. Specialities of the house include the salted anchovies with cheese and the cold fish salad. Guests are always welcome from Easter to 15 October between 8 am and midnight. At a water depth of 2.5 m only a few yachts can moor at the jetty. Alternatively, guests can moor at one of the buoys or anchor in the bay.
Have ordered lobster pasta for 7 people. Waiter who was not very intrested anyway suggested 2 kg. It was 1 lobster with very small amount of meat, not for more than 4 persons. We have commented it is too small, we would like to order more, and waiter said no, it will be another 20 minutes and continued to ignore us. We have ordered desert ( smallest panckakes ever) and just after eating desert waiter told us we need to go away becusse group which ordered table one hour later arrived 1 hour earlier... such poor service at so beautiful location.... I am not recommending it...
Excellent Kornati restaurant, 5 moorings and 5 buoys for guests. Food is delicious and fresh prepared. In the high season it's advised to get there early in the morning to get a free mooring.
