Veli Lošinj is the oldest city on the island Lošinj. The city, located in the countryside and divided by a vineyard, has 2 harbor bays. In the harbor is a speed limit of 15 knots. Bora is dangerous and the port should be then abandoned; it is well protected from S, E and W winds. Even with bora-free weather, a seemingly strong NE wind can blow especially at night. On the east pier are yachts at water depths up to 3 m "in the pack". Electricity connections are available, a water connection is being planned. West pier can put on yachts up to a depth of 1.3 m. Many restaurants, cafes and shops are also on site.
