Budikovac Veli is a small island just a bit south of Vis. The Budikovac Bay on the west side is also called "Blue Lagoon". The two offshore islands "Small Budikovac" and "Sanak" form a natural lagoon in which the water is wonderfully clear and shimmers in completely different colors depending on the time of day. The interior of the lagoon is quite shallow and not suitable for sailing yachts.
The island is inhabited by only one person during the season. Andro Slavic operates on Budikovac a small tavern in which mostly vegetables and spices from his own organic garden are served. In addition to fresh fish a few traditional meat dishes are on the menu as well.
There are a number of buoys in the Budikovac bay. The buoys inside the bay are suitable only for (flat-bottomed) motorboats and catamarans. Here the depth is just 1,5m. Sailing yachts pick up the buoys in the outer part of the bay. Here it is sufficiently deep with 3-6 meters. During the season, the buoys actually are always occupied, a reservation is required.
The clear water in the bay is made for long swimming and snorkeling trips. But watch out: There are occasional strong currents in the bay.
Payment in the restaurant just in cash.
Depth:1.5 - 6 m

Very very nice but really shallow inside!
Book in advance and call the owner 10 minutes before entrance! The entrance to the inner part of the bay is marked with 2 orange tons! These are not buoys! The water there is min. 2,9 m. The buoys inside have a water depth of 3,4 m (not all of them) but be aware and use the tons marking the entrance!!! Port or starboard of the tons it gets shallow very quickly!
The bay itself is really nice, but be aware of the extreamly shallow water. only the 3 boys on the outside are suitable for monohulls.
We did have some ground contact with our rudder trying to get to the boy on the entrance.
Sadly nobody wanted to give us a helping hand either.
If you are a catamaran or a motorboat I would recommend it otherwise stay clear.
Also the restaurant is very much overpriced. They asked us how much money we had to then determine their prices...
