Overview of Croatian restaurants relevant for boaters

Croatia, the land of a thousand islands on the Adriatic, is especially known for its varied natural beauties. But in addition to sun, yachts and sea, there is also a lot to discover culinary. Countless restaurants, konobas, pizzerias, hotel and fast food restaurants offer more or less local dishes. Particularly typical of the country are the so-called "Konobas". Konoba originally means "cellar", but is better compared to the Greek tavernas. Rather simply furnished, mostly family and especially to find on the Dalmatian coast. But rarely in the basement.

Especially in Istria, the Croatian cuisine is influenced by the Italian cuisine. But not just pizza and pasta. There are also elements of Austrian, Hungarian and Ottoman cuisine. This is partly due to the geographical location as well as historical developments.

Croatian cuisine offers a wide range of fresh fish, meat dishes, soups and stews, ham and cheese. Each region has its own specialties. Due to its location by the sea it is not surprising that fresh fish can be found almost everywhere on the menus of the restaurants. In addition to fish such as the sea bream, tuna and swordfish are also lobster and octopus on offer. But also shells e.g. from Ston in Dalmatia or the Limski channel in Istria are a typical delicacy. The Croatian meat is very tender, tasty and is offered in all variations. Above all, grilled roast is popular.

Also popular is the peka, a dish cooked under the steel bell, usually with potatoes, carrots, fresh herbs and lamb or fish.

Below is a list of all restaurants relevant to boaters along the coast with pictures, reviews and comments of other sailors and motorboat drivers.
