The north entrance is 10 metres deep, the south entrance is just under 2 m. You moor – as is usual in Greece – with a bow anchor and stern lines. There are no mooring lines nor sanitary facilities. As the yachts are moored very close to each other, tangled anchors are unfortunately the order of the day. If planning on leaving the port early in the morning, then it is recommended to remove the anchor tangle the evening before.

Gaios port provides shelter from all winds. When there are strong northerly winds, the anchorages near the south entry are calmer and the north part of the harbour provides shelter when there are winds from the south and south-east. The price for mooring is the same everywhere. A 12-m yacht costs about 20 euros a night, a 14-m 23 euros and you have to pay 36 euros for a 20-m yacht. There is a 35% surcharge if you come alongside. As Paxos and Antipaxos are administrative divisions of Corfu, a lady from the Corfu Port Authority collects the fees in the late afternoon. There are 10 pillars for water and electricity along the harbour promenade. Magnetic cards are needed to use them, which you can get at the Deep Blue Café Bar. Electricity and 500 litres of water cost 10 euros, you have to also leave 10 euros deposit for the magnetic stick.

The entire supply programme is a stone's thrown away, ranging from restaurants to supermarkets. The excellent cold-pressed olive oil made in Paxoi can be tasted and bought straight from the producer.
