Skala Thira

The “harbour” only consists of one quay carved out of the cliff and offers little shelter. You can moor stern-to or you can tie up a long mooring line to one of the designated buoys. As a few people who moor here do this, it can cause some pretty woolding that looks like a spider's nest. If one of the yachts further inside wishes to put out to sea, all of the other boats will have to move their mooring lines around this yacht. The prevailing swell does not make this very easy. The inner section of the harbour is reserved for the shuttle boats of the cruise ships and local boats.
