The small, picturesque fishing port of Vathy, on the western coast of the Methana peninsula, has a few sheltered berths. Yachts moor stern-to at the south-eastern quay or at the breakwater.
Vathy lies somewhat off the beaten track and has flair. There are a few taverns and cafés. Visitors can take the bus from Vathy to the town of Methana where there are plenty of stores to stock up on provisions.
