Sami is located on the east coast of the island of Kefalonia and was completely rebuilt after the earthquake in 1953. They took this opportunity to rebuild the harbour as a ferry dock. Sami and the harbour lie in a bay surrounded by green wooded hillsides. The harbour area is divided into the main harbour and the western harbour, separated by the ferry terminal. Yachts moor “Mediterranean style” in the main harbour in a water depth of up to 5.5 m. Boats can moor alongside behind the ferry mole (north quay) in depth of 4-5m. Mots yachts go stern to the western mole in depths of 2-3.5 m. The quay supplies bollards and mooring rings. Good protection. Only strong westerly’s and northwesterly´s create heavy swell. Also the south quay offers few yachts a sheltered berth. Here the depth is 3.5-5m.
A variety of taverns and shopping amenities can be found in the town.

Kleiner und gemütlicher Hafen, mit Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Keine Gebühren. Wer es ruhig und idyllisch mag ist hier gut aufgehoben. Jederzeit wieder ein Besuch wert.
The Harbor offers good shelter, but strong winds from west to northwest create unpleasant swell. The town is not very exciting but there are several tavernas and Shopping possibilities.
