Andros Harbour is protected and lies in the island of the same name. The capital town is very popular in summer. The harbour is protected, expect a strong swell when the Meltemi blows. Yachts moor at the breakwater or the mole where the water is between 0.3 and 6 m deep. The inner harbour is mainly occupied by local boats and only some places are up to 3 m deep. Water is available at the breakwater and boats moor bow-to or stern-to. In the inner harbour boats moor bow-to or stern-to at the mole or tie up with mooring lines. The anchorage consists of sand and rocks, therefore the anchor hold varies greatly. A variety of restaurants and shopping amenities can be found in the town.
