Safety note

Although the entrance is lit, a night approach could be hazardous because of the reefs and shoal water in the immediate approaches.
Care is also needed of ballasting underwater and where some silting has taken place

Approach

The reef lying close to the entrance is sometimes marked by two buoys but these cannot be relied on to be in place. At the entrance keep close to the end of the breakwater though not too close because of above- and below-water rocks off it.
