Marina Preko is located in the small harbour port of the same name on the east coast of the island of Ugljan. This island in north Dalmatia is also called the “Garden of Zadar” because of its abundant vegetation and proximity to the harbour town of Zadar, which is right opposite. The regular ferry traffic between Zadar and Preko means there is a good link to the mainland. The yacht harbour is an i...
deal starting point for sailing trips to the Kornati or the Zadar archipelago. The marina is open all year round and sheltered by the new breakwater. This makes the approach easy regardless of the weather conditions and also possible at night because of the light signal on the breakwater. The yacht harbour has berths for 87 yachts up to 20 m in length, all of which have electricity and water. There are approx. 5 additional berths for mega-yachts up to 60 m long. A new reception building has been built at the southern mole. The modern sanitary facilities are housed there, the showers and toilets are well-kept and clean. There are a few parking spaces north of the harbour basin. The only fuel station on the island is located at the ferry jetty south of Marina Preko.
Shopping in Preko There is a supermarket south of Marina Preko, very close to the mole, with a good range of products. More supermarkets, two butcher's shops and a bakery are located in the town centre. Fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh fish can also be bought at the daily market.
Food and leisure in Preko There are a number of good restaurants, konobas and café-bars around the harbour, only a few minutes away from the marina, with a large selection of dishes available in all price classes. Take a stroll after dinner through the historic centre of Preko and you will come across numerous buildings, residences and sacred buildings in Dalmatian style. In summer you can visit the olive oil factory south of the town where you can taste and buy the olive oil they produce and their home-made bread. The sandy beach offers all of the traditional water sports. There are a number of cycling, hiking and trekking routes around the village.
