Olive Island Marina

The approach to the yacht harbour is easy and also possible at night because of the light signal at the entry to the bay and on the mole at the marina. The huge mole protects the harbour from north winds.

Olive Island Marina is open all year round and was completed in 2007. It has 200 berths, all with electricity and water. Berths are usually available even in high season as the harbour is rarely overcrowded.

The sanitary facilities with well-kept showers and WCs are in a separate building. Right behind it are a few manned parking spaces free of charge.

The closest boat fuel station is located further south at Marina Preko.

Shopping in Sutomišćica
The marina complex has no provisionning facilities. Outside the marina is a small minimarket for basic provisionning. The neighbouring village of Preko offers more shopping amenities for larger provisions, it will, however, take you some 30 minutes on foot to get there. Or the marina's rubber dinghy can also take you to Zadar.

Food and leisure in Sutomišćica
The restaurant in the new reception building at Olive Island Marina serves meals daily, ranging from breakfast to lunch through to a large choice of dishes in the evening, and has a lovely atmosphere with a view of the yacht harbour. Outside the marina is nothing else then a bar which offers just drinks.

The village of Sutomišćica itself does not have that much to offer. It is worth visiting the Church of St Euphemia from the 14th century and the summer-house of the Lantana patrician family from the 17th century. However, the landscape of the island is characterised by olive fields, vineyards, pine forests and picturesque beaches and is called the “Garden of the town of Zadar”. The miles and miles of hiking trails are ideal for exploring the landscape, either on foot or even on bicycles borrowed from the marina.
