Attica

The region of Attica – Relaxing cruises and historical sights

Athens, the capital of Greece, with its numerous sights and a good maritime infrastructure, is the ideal starting point for sailing trips in the Saronic Gulf or the Cyclades. After seeing highlights in Athens, such as the Acropolis, which dates back to 467 BC. And 406 BC Built in 15C and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or the Daphni Monastery, one of the three most important Greek religious buildings of the 11th century and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Greek metropolis offers countless hot spots, from small restaurants to feudal gourmet restaurants.

From Athens there are numerous opportunities to explore Greece. Popular destinations are especially the northern Cyclades, or the Saronic Gulf.

Particularly worthwhile is the area around Cape Sounion, in the southeast of the Attica region, because the cape offers one of the most beautiful sunsets in Greece and is one of the many highlights in the region.
Along the Greek mainland on the one side and the mountains of the Peloponnese on the other side, the Saronic Gulf offers beginners and less experienced crews a safe trip planning, because the Saronic Gulf is protected by strong winds due to its geographical position.

Arrived at the Cape Sounion, or also the Poseidon coast, as it is often called, you can see from afar the Poseidon Temple, perched on a rocky plateau at 60 meters above the sea. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Greece and should not be missing on any tour of the Attica region.
