The large harbour basin is used by ferries, local boats and yachts alike. Yachts moor stern-to on the north-western or north-eastern corner. The seabed is muddy and provides good holding. The western and south-western parts of the harbour basin are mainly shallow with water less than a metre deep. A marina is being built further south-west, but it looks like it will remain in the planning phase for some time. The infrastructure has already been completed and unfortunately is simply rusting away. The tourist infrastructure along the harbour basin is good. Taverns, bars, motorbike rentals, cash machines, supermarkets, etc. are available en masse. The harbour is very lively and not always clean. The incoming and outbound ferries generate a lot of swell.
