Naxos is located in the west of the island of Naxos, and its white houses make it one of the typical places in the Cyclades. The harbour is protected by a breakwater and lies right in front of the marina. Yachts moor with mooring lines at a water depth of up to 2 m. At the same time, the harbour is the ferry dock, therefore expect a swell. It is dangerous to moor in the harbour when southerly and westerly winds blow. A small island in the harbour makes manoeuvring difficult. It gets shallow quickly where the berths are, in some places the water is less than 1 m deep, therefore it is advisable to moor bow-to. There are a variety of taverns and shopping amenities nearby.
